I wanted to make this website in hopes of people hearing about my personal story of how I began to skateboard. I share my journey in hopes of inspiring other people to want to learn and pick it up as well. It has truly changed my life and hopefully it can for the other millions of people out there in the world!!
Here's a picture of one of my favorite skater EVAN SMITH
Chapters of Progession:
A little background, I actually started pretty late in skateboarding. People usually do it close to their adolescent years or teenage years. Ironically, I began skating in 2019 at the age of 18!!! Even though I wasn't as young as I would have liked to begin, it gave me a sense of my childhood back. The wonders of having to figure something out for the first time is what my childhood was all about. I had to learn on my own, even if I was given tips and tricks from my other skater friends, the only person who would be able to learn the tricks of the trade would have to be ME.
The second year progression for me was a very interesting one, I fractured my feet twice eight months apart and one fracture for each foot. Skating had really taken its toll with my body. Nonetheless, I wouldn't let a couple of fractures stop me from what I love doing. All I had to do was wear a book for a couple weeks for each fracture, and before I knew it, I was skating like never before. Dont get me wrong, my feet will never be the same and I experience pain from time the time. The key is to be more aware of your mind-body connection. When I skate, I'm as consious and self aware as I can be in order to minimize the injuries I walk with. There's always tomorrow if I really want to skate.
This had been a time where I was still healing from my fractures, but I try to skate as much as I can from time to time, just to keep up with my practice. I started wokring out more, working more hours at my job, and i just recently started my senior semester of college. I may not have time to skate all the time anymore, but regardless, I make time when I can. Honestly, it's not so bad because at least for school, I am learning how to code, WIN-WIN!!
